We’re bringing dining back.

When I was growing up, it was an expectation that as a family, we all sat down to eat dinner together, at 6pm, every night, no distractions – and certainly no hats on heads or elbows on the table if you don’t mind!

Times might have changed, with many Australian dinner tables now becoming home offices instead, but the importance of a dedicated dining area, couldn’t be more important.  Here’s why:

  1. Family dinners help establish the importance of family time, by showing the members of your family that you value them. It helps you stay connected and catch up with each other’s news.
  2. Family dinners have been linked to better grades and better overall confidence and intelligence in children. Make this a technology free zone!
  3. The dining room can be the hub of the home and is certainly a big selling feature for buyers, so consider this when building/renovating or preparing for sale.

But what do you do if you don’t have enough space?  How can you still create that sense of family dining?  Contact me on 0408 991 855 if you would like some ideas.
